Tesco Pulls Stir-Fry Meal from Shelves Amid Allergy Labeling Mistake

Tesco has issued an urgent recall of its Stir Fry Tikka Chicken ready meal due to an allergy labeling error that poses a serious health risk. The issue stems from undeclared egg and mustard present in a sauce sachet—ingredients not mentioned on the product packaging. This mislabeling could endanger those with allergies or intolerances to these components. 

The affected product is the 650 g Stir Fry Tikka Chicken ready meal, specifically those bearing a use-by date of September 7, 2025. Tesco has swiftly removed these items from store shelves and issued a warning advising customers not to consume the meal. 

What should customers do? If you’ve already purchased the affected product, Tesco recommends returning it to any store for a full refund, even if you don’t have the receipt. 

In response to the incident, Tesco expressed a sincere apology for the inconvenience caused and clarified that no other Tesco products are affected by this issue.
