British Council Opens Applications for Fully-Funded Women in STEM Scholarships 2026-27
The British Council has launched the latest edition of its prestigious Women in STEM Scholarships programme for the 2026–2027 academic year. This initiative offers fully-funded master’s degrees in the UK to talented women from eligible countries, aiming to break down gender barriers and build the next generation of leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Addressing the Global Gender Gap in STEM
Women remain significantly underrepresented in advanced STEM education and leadership roles worldwide. This scholarship programme directly tackles this disparity by providing comprehensive support, enabling recipients to pursue advanced studies without financial burden. Now in its sixth year, the programme has partnered with over 40 top UK universities and supported nearly 500 scholars. For the upcoming cycle, up to 90 scholarships will be awarded to women from 30 eligible countries.
