This transfer marks the highest fee ever paid for a player from the League of Ireland, beating previous records including that of Mason Melia’s move to Tottenham. Ozhianvuna made his senior debut shortly after turning 16. The club has previously brought through prospects such as Ethan Nwaneri and others from its academy, which tightens the expectations around how Ozhianvuna might develop.
